Providing a transformative undergraduate experience

Principal's Welcome

To Current and Prospective Residents:

Welcome to the most dynamic, creative and diverse learning community in the heart of our historic University campus! Founded in 1995, Preston  emerged as an innovative opportunity to strengthen relationships between students, faculty, and the broader community. As a residential college, we are committed to providing every student the resources, space, and support to develop an enriching and transformative undergraduate experience.
Among Preston residents you will find students who excel in the classroom, who lead by example, who are passionate about the performing and creative arts, who are committed to service and active citizenship beyond the walls of the University, and who embrace a deep commitment to exploring and understanding diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. With an array of activities in our common spaces, classes, gardens, and our own unique dining hall, Preston is a small and intimate learning community in the center of a thriving urban campus. In my role as Faculty Principal, my family and I live in the College with 230 talented and inspiring residents, and we come together with nearly 40 faculty and staff associates in a series of exciting programs and events throughout the year.  We welcome you to join us.
